CASTRO wrote:I remember that adding boost doesnt give the expected power as the bottleneck lies in the y-pipe and exhaust. In past discussions (myself included) it seems that the exhaust would get plugged and boost would somewhat "blow back" into the chambers or otherwise get plugged up.

Happy Boostings!

Agreed, I think if you ran stock air box with K&N or TRD filter to the 4psi pulley and had JPP headers/y-pipe/exhaust you'd feel a bigger difference than the 4 to 5.5 jump.

with just greddy won't do much...headers and y pipes alone can give u 40+whp with the charger..

Hey Dawgz,

The 5.5 PSI should be no sweat for the solara charger. I've had mine for over 4 years and no problems at all.

I think people are just suggesting that you keep the 4PSI pulley in for a bit until you're sure the install and the charger is running smoothly. Its fairly simple to install the pulley so you can just keep it on hand until you've broken in your charger.

In regards to the parts you would require for your new upgraded pulley, i would say that with the 5.5, you wont need too many other upgrades. The only thing i would suggest is plugs, since they are easier to install before you put in the charger. As you upgrade more: fuel pump, headers, SAFC etc. of course your car will get faster but they are not neccessary for your 5.5 PSI charger to run smoothly.

Hope that helps,
-David

^^talk to sienna about the ebay headers...I dont think they provide any gains at all, so they would just be a waste of money.

a wideband would be your best friend when upping the boost as well....

then you can keep an eye on it....also an safcII so you can monitor the activity of the knock sensor(s).

if you run into trouble, then you can just drop the boost back down and stay there
