Silver Double Din trim Finally?

Silver Double Din trim Finally?

I have been searching on here for a way to trim my nav/dvd unit in a stock silver trim. The best I could find was using the oem nav trim and fill the gaps on each side. I found this piece at crutchfield. They specify 07 and newer, but it seems to me like this would be prefect in my 04 coupe.

If you;re wondering I am going to add the Cavalier DTM-650GPS unit ( http://www.onsale.com/shop/detail~dpno~ ... nitor.aspx ) as well as a full Power Acoustiks system:
MPW-19 Pre-amp EQ
OV4-840 Amp for 6x9s
NB-2 Component tweeters fo rthe dash
XP2K-693 3way 6x9
XP2K-693 3way 6x9
OV2-1250 1200watt amp for subs
PW2-10M 10" 450watt RMS sub
PW2-10M 10" 450watt RMS sub

Personally I love Power Acoustiks, especially since I am a retailer for them (and since it rolls of the soundstreem line). If anyone needs audio hit me up. All my pieces, minus the nav unit) are only $500. I get great pricing and can ship at fair price so hit me up if you need anything at all.

Good find on the double-din... The Scoche pocket kit has been out since early '05. Unfortunately it's a "one-off" color that doesn't quite match right, and actually clashes a bit. There are a few people on this site who have purchased them and I don't believe any of them were happy with it in the long run... I don't believe the color has changed for the '07 kit...

As for fitment, it should work just fine in your '04... but the color is the issue.

It's a shame, cuz Scoche makes decent stuff, but there really isn't any good looking "silver" kit out to this date.

Please let us know how the color matches when you receive the kit, it would be nice if Scosche actually DID hear our complaints and corrected the issue.

PS--> I'll leave the comment about Power Acoustik products rolling off the same line as Soundstream products alone for now... But I advise you to be VERY careful when making those claims if you are actually a retailer of those products...

Well the 07 camry double din trip panel can officially be nixed. Saw it sitting on my stairs last night and immediately pulled my dash apart, stripped wires and checked it out. Color is pretty close to our silver trim, but a touch darker. The panel is about 1/4" too narrow. So that pretty much blows. I just ran down to my warehouse and picked up the black double din trim panel and will paint it when I get some extra time.

I'm sorry to hear about that man... What do you mean the panel is 1/4" too narrow? Is there additional gap around the sides, or is it too narrow around the actual radio housing? Can you snap a couple photos?

Anyhow, good luck with the painting, I'm sure you'll be able to get something pretty close.

Oh DUDE... When reading your initial post I thought you meant the '07 and up SOLARA... After reading your new post and re-reading the info at the Crutchfield link again, I now see that it's for the Camry... I'm really sorry man, I would have said it wouldn't fit if I had realized that, I truly apologize for the misguided information... Damn, they actually look more similar than I had initially thought though!
