Water/Alcohol injection for supercharger

Has anyone tried, or even thought of, using water or alcohol injection with the supercharger? This is commonly used to control knock in high compression or high boost applications. You could set it up so it only injected with boost. Any thoughts?

Isn't that sprayed onto turbo intercoolers to increase efficiency? From what I know, the S/C doesn't really have overheating issues... and there aren't intercoolers for S/Cs... (intercooler is for cooling the inducted air right?) =x I'm so confused.

The idea is to spray the water into the intake air after it has been compressed by the supercharger so the evaporation of the water cools the intake air. I think the water vapour also slows down combustion, thereby reducing knock.

fifth element rocks!

alchy and H20 will eventually clog, which the mist turns into a drip. once that gets inside that is no good. plus it is overkill for street apps.

another idea would be to spray water on the air intake to cool it down.l The new lancer evo can spray water on the intercooler when it gets too warm.

as well as the STi...how cool would it look to pull up next to someone who wants to race, push the button and have mist come out of your hood!

are we growing grass on the intercooler? is that why we need the sprinlers?

There are intercoolers for some SCs. It depends on the type. But you were right as far as the V6 SC goes. You wouldn't have an intercooler on that.

Blaze, go check out the Evo one... they are easier to find (unless you only have Subaru dealers around you...
