geminiz the projector in the gen 2 solara is no where near what a true HID projector can output,
so by placing a 4300K bulb in there all you will probably get is a brighter oem color and maybe a very very VARY light blue across the cutoff.
i hope that clears things upthe only way to get that look is to do a retro or even maybe do a lens swap meaning getting a clear lens from a true hid projector and swappin it for our fresnel/rippled lens.

^^ I'm using the OEM projector lens and not having any problem at all...

As far as color goes, it's up to the color temp of the bulbs used in the HID kit - I'm running somewhere around 6500K here.

well he was askin if the 4300k would give hime the same look as those expensive cars(bmw,Audi,mercedes..etc) all im saying is that
Image

that^^^ is a true HID projector
yours is not, its just a higher temp bulb, im not saying the OEM projector has problems, im just saying that because the bowl and the lens aren't realli a true hid projector that it wont achieve what he wanted unless he does some mods to the entire projector or if on a budget swap the lens out for a clear one. the oem lens has a rippled design on it which kills A LOT of color at the cutoff, not including the squril(sp?) finders that needs to be pushed down.

thats all im stating.

btw sorry RDKamikaze for the thread jack

projex0,

Thanks for the clarification. I was curious because when I had 6000k, the cutoff was a nice purple, but the light output sucks. Since 4300k will not achieve a nice hint of blue at the cutoff, I will go with 5000k. Again, thank you.

geminiz - I think I ordered an extra kit by accident, but chances are it's not what you're looking for. It's got first dibbs with sp33d, but if it's not what he's looking for (because I'm really not sure which kit it is extra), then you can have next. If nobody, then I'll sell it here, then ebay last resort.

On one of my order lists that I made, there are two ??? spots. Whose kits are these:
H11 5000k 35w - 1 ????
9006 5000k 50w - 1 ?????

I think one of them was for someone who said they'd pay later, but I'm not sure. As far as I know, they're unpaid for and thus up for grabs (to sp33d, then geminiz, then anyone else).

duyquash is right! The H11 kit is HIS. The other kit still goes unspoken for, unless I was wrong about that too.

Duyquach - you have a PM. Read the one in caps that says READ MY FIRST!! Thanks! :)

Alright everyone, the kits have come in! Due to the fact that I'm at school until late tonight, I will be shipping the kits out first thing tomorrow. I'll prepare them all tonight and take some pictures for everyone to see. I hope you all enjoy your kits!

Most people will recieve their kits by Friday. If you don't get one then, it will be there Monday.
