zaino'ed my solara today - what should i use on interior?

Postby lizard_boy » Fri May 30, 2003 12:17 am

Can't believe how good the zaino worked - car looks great. Also applied some RainX Windshield Wax.

Now I want to work on the interior - I have cloth seats which seem to be in good shape but the dash could use some attention. What's the best product to take care of the dash area? I've noticed that the black area around the JBL & air conditioning seems to be a dust magnent. Just wanted to see what people recommend.

Thanks

I use a mini-california dust mop thing for dusting the whole dash, and old brushes for scrubbing the dirt out of the crevices.

www.zainobros.com

It's the only polish I use now. It's not a wax tho, so you should put a couple layers of good wax on top of the zaino...I use Meguiar's Gold paste and apply it by hand.

The dash can be cleaned with zaino's leather/vinyl cleaner. It even adds the genuine leather scent. :)

Dunno what to use for your cloth seats...get some wet okole's so it's easy to clean 8) As far as your dash goes, I use this product called 303. It's an aerospace cleaner thing, it was made for NASA...so ya figure if they OK'd it, can't be that bad  It's really good, a multi-purpose cleaner that can be used on pretty much anything, rubber, vinyl, leather, etc. I use it to clean my dash and doors, oh and my steering wheel. Stuff is good :D

i just armor-all the bastard. only problems is that it's hella shiny and it glares when i drive in the daylight.

just get a spray bottle of amor-all. spray it on your dash, massage it in with your hands, let it sit a while, and then lick the excess off your fingers and hands and spin around in circles till you stop seeing dots.

Yea 303 is great for use on the dash. I also use it on my tires after I have cleaned them -- its a nice, duller shine than crap like black magic. From what I've read, Black Magic and other tire shine products have petroleum additives which can cause your tires to brown over time. Armor all on the dash supposedly will cause your vinyl to crack over time -- it also makes it real slick. Theres no real way to know if all this is true or not, but I'm happy with 303 so thats what matters.

303 is expensive if you buy it by the bottle, but if you buy it direct from the 303 products company in the gallon and 1 bottle package, it is cheaper ( http://www.303products.com/store/catego ... N=46426184 ). Its 52.95 + 10.00 shipping, so it works out to be about $81.60 cheaper than buying 9 individual bottles to equal the 144oz in the package deal. You'll use that stuff quickly anyway.

I use nothing but Griot's garage interior to clean my seats, carpet, etc. I also use their Vinyl/Rubber protectant on my tires, dash, etc. It is siliocne free and has a matte shine to it.

Armour all and 303 are old school - Try Vinylex

Postby 70weeks » Tue Jun 03, 2003 9:39 am

Vinylex stays on at least twice as long as Armour all and 303. It is also anti-static so the dust doesn't stick to it as much.
