driver's side vanity mirror fell out

driver's side vanity mirror fell out

Postby Missay » Mon Jun 02, 2003 7:09 pm

my vanity mirror fell out and for some reason i can't get it to go back in.

i put the insulation/padding type piece where it's suppose to be and i slide the mirror into those three "slots" on the right, but i can't get it to click into the left side. If I manually press the mirror into the visor, the light comes on, but as soon as I release pressure, the light turns off...not to mention the mirror usually falls out at me everytime i pull down the visor.

Any suggestions on popping it back in?

the mirror in my car actually has a screw behind the bulb...if you take the plastic cover off of the bulb, and then pop out the bulb, you should see it...you might need to screw it in...hope this helps...L8r moe :evilbat:

Mine was broken also... You need to claim for warranty. (3 years)

There's no TSB out for this.

I have that problem with my drivers side though...I tried everything, but I can see that the place that the screws screw into is cracked. :-?

I know I don't have any issues with the sunvisors, but on my camry (since its used by my wife more) it swings freely sometimes! I guess it varies on the use...or as others placed it..how much make-up u put on while driving!!

Actually, I didn't open that mirror up under 30 times since I got the car.

That screw&plastic part is pretty fragile.

Oh wells, warranty fixed it. I am happy haha.

How do you screw it in?? I'm going to have to take a better look at it, b/c I don't remember seeing a screw or anything. :-?

lol...nooooo, I don't put my makeup on in the car (except an occasional lipstick/eyeliner)..I do my makeup at home BEFORE I leave which is why I'm usually driving like a maniac to get to work on time  .
Although, I have been guilty in H.S. of attempting to finish putting on my catholic school girl uniform, do my hair in the mirror, hold makeup in my mouth, try to change a cd....all while using the other hand to drive and keeping up the occasion middle finger for good measure to people who piss me off....hahahah..j/k  well...sorta

Damn, I'm past warranty. That bites.
