Wzup all?

Its easy to tell if a car is dirty by looking at the outside but knowing what lies beneath is another story! We drive through so many elements like: rain, snow, gravel, dirt & sometimes fresh paved roads! (TAR) Today I decided to detail the underbody starting with the front wheel wells. Plan to do the rear & chassis along with the engine bay tomorrow. The calipers gave me an eye sore so I ordered the G2 caliper paint kit which hopefully should be here by midweek. Upgraded rotors & lines are in the process. Here are just a few pics of what I cleaned so far...

Holy crap dude, that looks great! How did you do that? I'm totally buying whatever you used :P .

Speaking of which, what is everyone's personal choice for tire cleaner and shine? I use the foam Black Maxx spray, but it keeps flinging black dots all up the side of my car :( . Any suggestions?

Simplegreen and water will usually do the trick :)

I use Armor All tirefoam on my rubber, gives that wet look after the foam disappears and doesn't go everywhere :D

Thanks for the info! I saw the Armor All stuff, but I was skeptical to buy it because it looks similar to my Black Maxx stuff. I really hate how it flings crap everywhere, but it looks so nice!

Thx guys! "XEusioN" nailed the answer. Simple Green & water along with a little elbow grease & bam...CLEAN! 8) Will be doing the rest today so I'll get some before & after shots later.

Are you using an applicator? I use this with my tire shine & get no left over residue.

WD-40 and a soft rag keeps mine shinin' - but I don't have any of the nasty elements a lot of you guys have either! :o

Painting the calipers and rotor edges helps too - no rusty-crust. ;)

Wow PXL, your calipers still look great! Mine are getting chipped and starting to look worse by the day :( . I need to steal my paint back from my friend and throw a few more coats on, I guess. Also, how do you like the drilled/slotted rotors? They look nice!

As for the applicator thing for the wheels, how much was it? It looks pretty shifty, my friend! Did you get the gel application, then?

I just spray the tire shine on the pad & apply.
