Tein vs. Eibach - My Verdict

Tein vs. Eibach - My Verdict

I recently switched from Tein to Eibach for my Tokico struts. I must say that I like the Eibach's better. They are supposed to have a stiffer spring rate, but they do feel smoother on the main roads, while still maintaining great cornering. Sharp turns that used to make my tires squeal are now silent, meaning this suspension combo is keeping the tires glued to the road. I was honestly surprised the first time I took a sharp right at around 20 or so, and the car just WENT. I can't comment on the drop much because the Eibachs have not settled yet, but I do think the drop looks better. How long do I have to wait for it to completely settle, by the way? Right now I've got about a 3 finger gap up front (skinny fingers) which seems kind of high.

In short, spend the extra 50-60 bucks and go for the Eibachs.

^^and how long did you have the tein's? you probably wore them out and thats why the brand new springs feel so much better.

well i don't think springs really wear out with time, the struts are more prone to wear. but yea i mean i still remember when i first got them, and i like the eibachs more compared to that

Springs do wear out in time. I remember I replaced springs on my 90 corolla at 150k and they were compressionable by hand and sagged so much that the Eibach's didnt even affect ride height which wasnt what I was going for anyway

Tein looks better for the drop....

But I say screw springs and struts and just go with Coilovers....

Best money spent..
I wish I did CO from the beginning...

well i did consider the ksport coilovers for a while, and they were only about 300 more than the spring/strut combo. but i eventually didnt go that way because i learned that the coilovers wouldnt last as long. the shocks end up blowing after a few years and need to be recharged, which is about 100 each
