Ok, so I have decided to retro fit projectors in my Solara....because I miss my old ones soooo much. I was thinking of getting the Infifnti Q45 headlights and do the conversion

Or should I stay with the traditional projector lens? Like somthing from a VW Tourage?

Depends on the rest of the car. If you're pushing the envelope and making a show car, go with the latest technology. Otherwise, I honestly don't think investing in headlights is a good idea if body work, wheels, exhaust, suspension are all untouched. (Not sure on the status of your car.)

My rule of thumb is usually functional before cosmetic. Is there a functional need for the new headlights or is it just style?

My 2 cents plus change.

What gen solara do you have? I really doubt those would fit on a gen 1.

Well I'm not going the whole body kit thing. Getting RSB, it's lowered, 18's and maybe tint. I guess the Q45 lights would look just a little bit off. I do have a Gen 1 and they will just fit in the housing... it's tight though. As for function, I had a pretty heavily modified Camry before so I know where you are coming from.

those are to friggin big for the gen 1-1.5and their cutoff isn't as sharp as other regular projectors. but it looks sweet during the day tho....

anyways id say go for the regular projector like a tsx or s2k projector if you have the gen 1.5 since you wont have to deal with the bi-xenon part, tsx and s2k are single xenon. but if you have the gen 1 i'd say a popular choice with some retros would be the TL projectors since its is a hi/lo beam all in one(good for the gen 1)

i don't mean to take over this thread with my own question, but i was just wondering how one would go about putting in projectors into the headlight housing of a gen. 1 solara? I know you can get them custom made for you, but is there a possible DIY?

Thanks for your time
