I am new to driving the solara and I really love it!!! maybe a little too much since I now want to protect it as much as possible and it doesn't have a security system installed in it. Any help would be appreciated

i just have to assume this is the first car you ever driven. there are many types of alarms out there, you can buy the best, you can buy the worst, but in the end if someone really wants to snatch your ride, they will attempt every and any method to do so.

i have the Hornet Hornet 554T, anything from Directed Electronics Inc. is reputable.

however if you are just overwhelmed with the fact that your car may be stolen, just live in it, garage it, or install lo jack

do you want features like remote start incorporated into the alarm?

I'm personally a big Clifford fan. They have some solid stuff, and it's quite expandable (trunk + door solenoids, smart windows, engine start, etc, etc).

At my job, i work with and install alam=rms all day long. Go with a clifford matrix RS3, it has a two-way paging remote for paraniod people like yourself. Oh yeah, me too.

yep, any 2-way paging system will do you just fine. expect to put down about 5 bills to satisfy your "paranoidness".

go for the dual-zone (also called perimeter) sensor...its real NICE, just keep the settings to low sensitivity, you don't want your alarm going off if someone just passed it...

Thank you everybody- paranoia does come easier when the car isn't fully paid off as well:) I was going to go with the stock system and I have reconsidered that idea-

Clifford is by far the best but damn expensive!

Just get a guard dog and leave him in the car (lol)

Me too...I got the Clifford 7000IQ, seems to work good for me. Plus the dude hooked up the stock horn alarm thingy to go off as well as the Clifford siren so it's pretty damn loud...the stock Solara horn alarm is definitely one of the loudest I've heard :P
