Ok. I've actually had my '04 Solara since 2005, but I've decided it's way past due to get my butt in gear and back into working on cars. It's been a several years though since I've picked up a wrench (blame the ex...), I think I'll be lucky to remember which way is up. That's what I'm here for though :) to get my bearings back.

So hi, guys!

Well honestly I don't know.... I originaly bought it for a 4 hour daily trek to & from work, which I no longer do, so I wasn't planning on keeping it. However plans have changed.

For the moment I'm just going to re-hone my wrench turning skills. I have few doubts though that one thing will eventually lead to another (as they so often do). My biggest complaint is that it's an automatic...and I need more displacement. I'm getting a twitch just thinking about it hahaha Where there's a will there's a way!

Welcome to the site my DC/MD/VA sister. What part of MD are you from?

As for your Lara, I'm assuming you have the I4 if you're craving a higher displacement engine (unless you're a powermonger, but I'm just now getting my Supra past the performance levels of my '04 Solara SE Sport V6)? Which model do you have?

Anyhow, glad to have you aboard!

Take care, and enjoy!

Um. It's more of a nicknamed I earned when I used to race a few years ago. The one shop I used to go to had a couple of track-ready Z's that I'd swipe the keys too all the time.

I live near Baltimore, but spend a majority of my time out in Fredrick. Gotta love being able to hit 100+ mph on 70!

It's a basic SE 4-banger? As I said, it was baught for practical purposes (ie: MPG) at first.
Oh yeah...power...fun!! But I need ace handeling just as much since I prefer twisties to superslabs. Honestly though, what I'd really like to do is see what other engines I could possibly shoe-horn into it. Now that would get me going! Not to mention I need to keep up with my friends Audi's & a '69 Camero (well I can try to at least keep that one in my sights).
A friend is someone who'll get out of bed at 2 a.m. to drive his trailer to the middle of nowhere to get you when you're broken down.

Never argue with an 18-wheeler...or anyone on a Harley.

1.) Obtain cheap JDM 1JZ Supra
2.) Obtain sheet metal, a metal cutter and a welder
3.) ?????
4.) Profit
With ??? roughly corresponding to pulling the rear subframe from the Supra, hacking the piss out of the exhaust tunnel on the Solara to properly accomodate a driveshaft, making custom mounts to bolt on Supra rear end, making custom motor & tranny mounts to fit the 1JZ and R154 in there, getting a custom driveshaft to match the length of the Solara, some wiring, and a shifter linkage to make the shifter line up. There's prolly more that I'm missing :D
