Jim's Torque rod installed

Got it installed tonight. Hard to say for sure how much of a difference there is. Unfortuantely its been raining all evening so the road has been too slick to really try to get on it but there does seem to be less front end travel when I gun it and steering feels more connected. Also notice more vibration but not really a big deal and reallly only notice it at idle. Seems that since the front end is lifting less I'm spinning the tires more since it's wet out. Hopefully tomorrow will dry some so I can test this out further

^^^ NICE i just installed mine a week ago.....cant really tell too much of a difference but i have to admit a couple time when i would hit instead of doing the infamous "skip" it did a clean peel.......let me know what you feel once you get to test it.....

this is suppose to help u also stop that annoying "bumping" when u just floor it, and the tires just make the car bounce, power to the floor is what it gives u.

my bad the "bumping" is what i meant when i said "skip" my car still skips a lot when i really get into it........but maybe im just launching at an rpm that is a little too high........

My launching is better and steering is more direct. I do hear the "click" noise sometimes. I'm sure it's the heim joint hitting on the the rod or bracket. I can't tighten it up any more than i have.

Maybe I'll find some polyurethane or other material to wrap around the rod and against the sides so that when the heim joint travels it won't bump against metal.

Ya for the sides I'm prob. gonna go with metal bushings for right now to shim it. I may see if I can find something in polyurthane that would work but def. not gonna use regular rubber. Purpose is to be stiff so dont want any give. I dont mind some feedback in the wheel as long as teh whole car doesnt rattle which it doesnt. My friend rode in in last night and said he didnt notice any change in ride quality so thats what matters to me.

Heres an update. Dry roads today and yes, def. an improvement. I seem to be spinning more in second now as the power is actually trying to get to the ground now. My buddy added some shims to the rod today and seems to be a lil stiffer. I can def. push the car a bit harder in some turns as theres less front end float so I have more confidence and shifting is a lot smoother when I row the gears. Great work Jim and def. a mod worth doing!

hey guys, i installed mine and found that there was almost no wheel hop left in my hard launches .... and i was 'practicing' the week before to find out where the difference would be felt.

as for the heim joint space, what i ended up doing was taking the rubber grommet/spacer/thingy that was on the original mount, and then using that with the curved washer from the original mount and used that to fill the extra lateral space. there are two on the oem mount, one is a bit thicker than the other, so just check them both out until you find which fits better.

it works good, no lateral movement on the torque rod, and i've only heard one click when shifting from P to R, and that was before i figured out how to fill that extra space.

Yeah that bracket that mounts on the frame of the car doesn't look very pleasin' to me.

I used washers on my Torque Rod for the lateral support.
