Dat's Ypipe

SO i bought it from a member on here, its in the mail and coming to my house.

I was talking with another member on here, who ill leave anonymous unless he wants to reveal himself...

and told me the front header weld that was done on this pipe was not needed and that it is a steel pipe which will corode and rust...(oh great)

and that it was bent using a "Crush bend" which u can see in the picture and renders it restrictive because of it.

also that the mod to have the ypipe fit was not at the front header at all, but somewhere else ( i later found a post of where the pipe before the Flexpipe is extended a few inches)


So wat am i looking at here?










So am i looking at extensive work to make this pipe work or is it fine?

did i just waste 300$!? to put more money into it!?

wtf??? holy crap, that is gonna take some extensive work to fix! send it back, that is not even worth the time you're gonna pay to make it right.

For the record, it cost me $135 to fix mine, with a stainless welding specialist...but it looks great. All I did was cut the flex to flange piece, flip it over so the flex was near the rear flange, and reweld...cost me 2 hours labor too, but it looks complete. your pipe looks like a complete hack job that will rust to crap in no time.

Here's a convo i had with a member on here...

Unnammed: first of all, its the rear thats the problem, not the front
Unnammed: so they pretty much hacked the front for no reason

Unnammed: the flex pipe... its still not moved back. the fix to that is to take the test pipe, and use it where the flex is at. the bluge on the flex will bang/rub against the subframe

Yea like I said man the guy F**ked it up. However you can't really blame him for him doing anything wrong because he sent you pictures which clearly depicting everything before you had agreed to purchase it. You should have consulted someone before you decided to purchase it, which was a misjudgement in your part and not the seller's fault. After I saw the pictures I knew immediately that it wasn't worth a purchase.

did you get the pics before or after the purchase? i thought maybe you got them after the purchase, but if you saw them before the deal was made you may have some problems with a return.

Here was mine it was 100 even to fix and welded with the proper stainless equipment

wow that pipe is F***ed. The welds suck and pipe is from the store that cost under 5 $ and will rust. What exactly is the problem with these pipes ? i personally dont have one but everyone on this thread had theirs fixed.
