Hey everybody thnx for checkin this thread out! well long story short i am going to get a custom 3" pipe bent for the 'lara straight from the cat back to skip out on the resonator i dont wanna get a test pipe or anything in place of the cat cause i think it would be a little too loud........so anyways im getting the pipe and i am thinking of hookin up a flowmaster cause the shop im gettin it done at deals with them.......so gimme some opinions do you think it would sound good or not?? BTW i have a 2000 v6 5 speed with injen + CaE THANKS!! :drinking: :drinking:

3" is way too big. You'd lose tons of bottom end power and it would sound terrible. Your OE pipes are already mandrel bent. The pinch points are in the front pipe, inside the submuffler and in the main muffler. Go 2.25" for NA or 2.5 for mild S/C. 3" is only necessary if you're running a larger turbo.

Actually they restrict flow. If they sucked, then you'd have negative backpressure and that would be good. :roll:

thnx a lot for the feedback guys, phreakd im gonna take ur advice and go 2.25" i didnt wanna go 3" but my friend kept tellin go big go big.......but that is exactly why i posted up and asked about it.....the last thing i wanna do is make my lara sound ricey.....thanks!

2.25 or 2.5 is the best choice. I normally say just to stick with stock size.

Why are you getting rid of the cat? Thats horrible on the enviornment!

You gotta go 2.5" to get any performance gains. Stock is 2.25" and 3" is way too big unless you s/c. I got a custom dual set up with 2.5" from the cat back, no resonator, splitting into two 2" pipes with magnapack mufflers. It sounds real mean and deep. As it breaks in more (I only got it like a month ago) it just gets better.
