finally doing something with my solara.

finally doing something with my solara.

so i've had my solara for about 6 months now and i finally gave into the thought of "modding it". its a 2000 auto V6 SE. im currently in the works of buying a renova grill off of a member here.

i'd like to do the TRD front lip and the "black widow" sides and rear.
im normally not a fan of kits (coming from the JDM honda scene) but after seeing socalara (not sure if thats the right name sorry) i love the way it looks. so enough rambling i just wanted to pretty mush introduce myself since i've been lurking for the last couple of months.

I guess that'd be me :D
I love it, I wish I would've done it sooner. The only problem is with the black widow skirts, you'll never be able to take it to Toyota or most places with a lift. Most places won't take the risk of having to put some pieces of wood or something to get the arms to touch the frame....GL with whatever you do!

I've got JIC coilovers, so worth the money. I like being able to raise and drop it when I feel like it.

Here's the breakdown of the projectors:

Labor/service etc.
    Lowbeam retrofit = 250
    highbeam retrofit = 100
paint and upgraded sealant = free
plug and play wire harness = 40
    partial priority service = 60
    return shipping = 25
    4 custom shrouds = 150
    color mod = 30
Labor total 655 + 3% (paypal) = 674.65

HID Parts:
    TSX projectors
    Matsushita gen 2 ballast
    4300K Osram D2S bulbs
    H1 projector (high beam)
    H1 bulbs

Parts total 500 + 3% (paypal) = 515

Grand Total = $1189.65

It wasn't cheap, but they do some quality work. :D For you it'd be cheaper, since you don't have 4 lights. Just email Bjorn@customlightz.com, he'll let you know. He's a cool guy, tell him I sent you maybe he'll give you a break.

holy crap! i figured it was expensive... but damn.
that might be something i save for NEXT tax season haha.
im just doing the very basic over the next couple of months (renova grill-black housing headlights-wheels- CO's.) i dont really want to dump that much into it though. i fear spending so much after going that route with my last couple of cars.
