I have does Akebono pads. Good pads.
I think you go for an sure hit with Brembo.

heard good things about those akebono pads (clean/quiet)

I just installed that same combo about 2 months ago. It's a great combo. Stopping power is quite good and they are incredibly quiet and clean. At the end of the week my wheels have barely if any brake dust. Only bad thing is the rotors rust like crazy. Make sure to at least paint the rotor hat.
