yes, the TRD RSB is the best mod for the buck. also, since it doesnt modify the engine, then you will be able to bolt it up and notice the performance gain, without having to worry about messing with your engine to the point of throwing a CEL (which seems to be the russian roulette of adding an air-intake)
and technically adding a RSB isn't working under the hood... it's working under the rear of the car (as it bolts up to reduce the chassis roll experienced when cornering a turn). the type of performance the rsb adds isn't measured in horsepower, it's measured in G's (as in, how many G-forces you can have acting laterally from the turn while still maintaining good flat traction on the road)...well, that's kinda an oversimplification, but i thing you understand what i'm saying.
basically.....if you take a turn kinda fast and you feel your car kinda tilt towards the outside of the turn..yeah, the rsb eliminates that...it keeps you flat and neutral feeling, which allows a faster acceleration out of the turn.
