how hard is it to change that?

alsoooooo, i just changed both belts and i was wondering if anyone knew what the right tension would be? one of them randomly makes a very high pitched obnoxious noise when idle (stops when i give it gas)... it doesnt seem to be rubbing on anything, and i know im supposed to check the tension every couple hundred miles after replacing them..
