Questions on s/c install prices

I was wondering why the pricing would be so different around my area.

Toyota of North Hollywood $600
Hamer Toyota $490
Longo Toyota $707
Norwalk Toyota $460
Whittier Toyota $464

I heard Longo has probably done the most installs, but is it really worth paying the difference? I know some places have better reps, but damn I could somewhere other than Longo and invest in something else. I was gonna go to N. Hollywood, but for $600 I could go to Hamer and save $100. Any recommendations? :-?

That's cool, I really would like to do it at a dealership so I could get the 5 year warranty. Thanks anyway. :D

All the prices under $500 seem fair. I think my installation cost about $450, and that was about 1 1/2 years ago. Longo's price seems way too high. Ask the other dealers how many supercharger installations that they've done for Camrys and Solaras. If they've done more than a couple, they should know what they're doing. You might also want to post this question on teamsc3.com, as there are a lot of S. Cal. people with experiences at various local Toyota dealerships.

did you purchase your s/c from a dealer?
if so, no matter which toyota dealer you use, it'll still carry the 5yr/60K warranty. and if it were installed improperly, you'd know it within 1,000 miles. at which point everything can be repaired the right way. i wouldn't worry, go to the cheapest/most convenient place for you.

I bought it new from a guy off the SC3 forum for $1900. I talked to the guys at Toy of N.H. and they said I could still get the 5yr warranty. Is it true that you have to buy it from a dealer to get the 5yr? Couldn't I just tell them I got it at a different dealership? Or would they know, somehow? :-?
I'd figured the cheapest place would be best. Thank you very much! I just needed to hear it from someone who's already s/c'd.

I just got a call from Keyes Toyota and they want $360! I'm sold! That's the best price I've heard. When I told him what others were charging he was really amazed!

since used toyota parts carry no warranty, make sure that keyes toyota will warranty it for you up to 5yr/60K. if it came down to it in a couple years, they may ask for a receipt from the purchase of the s/c; at which point you'd be up a creek. good luck anyway.

Just call all the local Toyota dealerships. Someone will quote you less than that. I got mine done at Berkeley Toyota. I know that other local dealerships were charging different prices. If you ask around, you'll find a better price.
