Gen 1 Cp-e tuners

Gen 1 Cp-e tuners

Postby JavaJoe_2 » Tue Aug 21, 2007 7:22 pm

I have the CP-e on my S/C Camry.
While playing with the tuning I noticed that at the top end there seemed to be a lot of negative numbers.
So, I figured that I don't want those so I started with a "new" program and zeroed everything across the board.
Well it ran like sh*t.
Reinstalled the factory (CP-e) setting and it runs fine.
I'm going to have it dynoed next week or so. I'm waiting for my TB. When I get that I also have supra injectors that i'm going to install....then dyno time!
But back to my initial question...why? Any ideas?
I change the numbers at the top end by +4, but they are all still negative.
Just trying to learn a little about the CP-e and tuning.
Thanks

the negative values just mean that for this voltage (X axis) and this RPM (Y axis) I want Z% less (- minues) or (+ plus) of fuel than the stock CP-e setup that is already a bit leaner than completely stock.

sounds like a good combo.....but basically, it's the same as safc tuning then....I thought the cpe was more complex than that....

i have the non tuneable cpe

so could i get the safc and tune it with that? as opposed to switching the nontuneable maf to the tuneable maf through cpe?

which would be better?

I didn't want to have the Apexi showing.
The CP-e is clean and neatly tucked away. They essentially are the same.
I'm going to setup my laptop to read OBDII codes also.
Well, it seemed to run better going to positive values. I remember seeing Sienna's chart and they all were positive values. (I think)

SiennaSC said that he untouched all the values ! Strange that you have positive value if it stock...

it's all about fuel

higher values more fuel
lower values less fuel

In fact, it takes the MAF signal upon the setup it will increase or decrease the voltage signal to match an other.

Example : The MAF suppossed to receive a value of 4 volts but instead CP-e is setup to -4.5%
-4.5% of 4 = -0.16

4 + -0.16 = 3.84 volts

So the stock AFR at 3.84 volts is leaner than at 4 volts.

It is how it is working.
