if you're going to spend a couple K's on your tranny, sticking with an auto is a waste of time and money...

unless of course you're actually shooting for that 500whp and planning to hit it soon.

There is also Level 10. I have not decided which of them I will use. I bought a used tranny and intend to build it up with their rebuild kit and valve body.
I haven't decided on the torque converter.
I was going to be asking the very same question. There are only a couple of guys with BUILT trannys on this board.

You can buy Scott tranny
http://www.solaraguy.org/viewtopic.php?t=34449

It will be a plug and play for you !!! At least a way less complicated then to do it on my Gen 2 ! You can buy also SPEC stage 3 clutch and fidanza lightweigth flywheel.

i have high hopes i want to get at least 400 hp but 500 is the goal i plan on building the block w/ all new internals and some kind of forced induction but a trani swap seens highly complicated

I hope you have DEEP pockets!!! I know of only one, and thats "Tony the Tiger" And it looks like Tony(?) has a new Supra.
A tranny swap would seem to be a walk in the park, compared to 500 ponies in a 1MZ.

its not going to happen over night but when it happens it will be a one of a kind bad ass machine that will have people kicking them selfs when they get beat by a Solara. the reason i want to stay with an auto is because with that much power to the front wheels a 5 spd will be more difficult to control

and that was with his old turbo...his next setup with the T66 was a beast...450whp+

I took a ride in it and it was absolutely nuts....
I also took a ride in his 450+whp supra (6spd) and the camry actually feels faster
