I got a mesh grill for my Renova frame from http://www.racemeshgrilles.com/ . Sent the Renova frame and two days later they sent back a completed grill with the mesh that I wanted which was electro polished stainless steel. I think it was about $150. Absolutely great work.

Thanks!

That actually does look good. If the money ever happens to appear in my pocket, I just may do the same.

just buy a renova grill for $120 and have somebody paint it black, but white would look much better, the white frame with black mesh would look good

would it be possible to just remove the original grill, cut the inside of it and leave only the frame, them just buy a randome grill from homedepot, paint it and stick it there? wouldnt that give similar results to the 150$ one?

Damn!!!!

I'm beginning to hate this site. Every time I turn around, there is something new I need to buy.

Just an FYI: Here is where to get the Renova grill.

I went to Toyota and bought a new grille for my gen1. It's quite expensive, more when you know that's the "peel" seems to be a general problem for all the gen1 Solara.. but I was tired to see the peeling grille who makes the car looks older. Maybe the new one will peel too, but it will takes some years before doing it again, it's ok for me and now it looks awsome.

Postby NRDriver » Sun Oct 14, 2007 12:43 am

u could cut out the middle but it does require air tools and bondo to smooth it out. if u are asking u probably dont have the skill to do it. i just painted the outside silver and the inside black cuz i was lazy and busy

Thanks for this info. This is a nice touch. Since they do custom work, I wonder if they can put the Toyota emblem on the grill mesh. They have other examples where the car logo is on there. I guess I would have to find the right logo to use. I'm thinking of a black mesh. Here I go thinking of spending more money on my car. Rats!
