 Awwww man...I am so pissed...why people gotta @#@#$ with my car for?? Well...my Baby has a booboo in it  On Tuesday afternoon I went to my parents house in Hawaii Kai and parked my car right in front of the driveway as my Sis and my Mom's car were in the garage. I couldn't have been in the house longer than 15 minutes when I hear my alarm go off. I was in a room farthest from the door so when I got to the front door my Sis said "I think someone broke your window" so of course I freak!! Went outside to find all windows intact but brown colored glass all over my trunk. Thinking some idiots just threw a bottle & hit my rear window...but then I saw my Tailight!! Those a$$@#$# drove by and whipped a Budweiser bottle @ my car, it hit my tailight and made a huge hole in it. There is also numerous cracks throughout the rest of the tailight. Some of the bottle's glass was still inside the hole of my tailight. The glass shattered everywhere...on my trunk, my bumper, underneath my spoiler. To make matters worse the shattered glass made a bunch of scratches on my bumper & trunk!!!! I live on a main road next to a District Park which a lot of dumba$$ go up to drink @ so I'm thinking some drunk @#@$#@ drove by and wanted to act stupid. Sheesh...I am so bummed...gotta replace the tail light for sure now...it looks so bad!!! Can't understand why people are so disrespectful these days.... :x

That sucks man...sorry to hear it. I know what ya mean. I had some kids shoot out the tail light in my old camry once...so pointless. Try salvage yards to get a new tail light for cheaper. Maybe the scratches will buff out with some polishing compound. Hey, it could be worse..you could be driving a civic!

Sorry to hear about the damage. I just got an estimate today for fixing both doors. Somebody dented the driver door while I was at work and somebody hit the other side with an egg and messed up the paint last Sat. night. It is gonna cost me over $600 to get it fixed because both doors have to be repainted. Hope you can get your scratches to buff out.

I have a Black Solara. You could look at those funny and it will cause a noticable scratch!
I got rear-ended one time on a rainy day. I think the guy was only going like 30mph... but I saw that his tires locked up so I drove up a little to the right of the car in front of me, but he still hit me. I guess it wasn't very hard because there was not dent, just a very very small indentation near the licence plate.

that must be pretty freaky hearin someone come up behind you like that. i generally feel safe in my solara, especially for a front collision, i think i would be ok. but i noticed the other day when i was going straight, and a car was gonna make a left, he didnt see me i guess and came really close to me. it was an SUV, and my heart skipped a beat. i realized that a side impact crash would be pretty bad, so i think thats the one point i feel unsafe in the solara. what about you guys?

lol OK Krook...we can cry with each other  yea the scratches are semi deep...most of them have scratched the paint off...so don't think the buff'n is gonna work unfortunately. I filed a police report...and yea I'm sure I could claim it as insurance...but I don't think it would be worth it because of my deductible...I don't think to replace the tail light would be more than my deductible. BTW does anyone know where I can buy one online for a semi decent price, besides EBAY. I've been looking but can't seem to find places...

Most of the solaras they have were involved in front end collisions so the taillights should be fine

You know..it's things like this that break my heart (and unbelievably piss me off). Some people have NO respect for anything but what concerns them..even then  .

I mean, if they were working their a$$ off to pay for their own car and someone did that to them......yeah, it wouldn't be so much fun anymore.

Hummm..maybe we shoulda bought that $100 solara wreck off ebay for parts

Yeah, I agree w/ you...judging on how my car did (and how it felt) in a front collison, and based on pictures of other solaras in front end collisions, the solara seems to do really well. But the idea of an SUV kareeming (sp?) towards me on the side scares the hell out me...I'd think it would just push right in and you'd be in bad shape. Then again, I'm thinking high speed, I'm sure a crash under 35mph would be fine (depending on the factors)

I've been paranoid lately of getting rear ended at red lights.
