As I mentioned in another post, I am interested in buying a 2000 4 cylinder Solara and one of thing I noticed is that the clutch catches high. How much would I be looking at spending on a new clutch? BTW, how long do these clutches normally last? I'd figure 7-10 years should be normal if its driving right. I have an 86 BMW that still has the origional clutch in it and 215k, I know thats not the norm, but still. Anyways, just trying to figure out what I might have to put into it in the near future.

Although I have never driven a 5spd solara I am willing to bet you won't see 7-10 years out of the clutch. I know ryan (Flipside909) is on his stock clutch at around 85k miles but he is one of the higher mileage guys and its impressive that its lasted that long.

It all comes down to how good of a driver you are and how much you beat on the car
