Steve is no longer making his. Also Danny, a member of this forum, was making beautiful grills but he stopped.

I too am looking for a nice grill. Maybe if we get enough people in we can convince a manufacturer to make one for us

i like the stock grill, especially on 99-01. that whole mesh thing isnt my style, reminds me too much of the civic rice rockets, and thats the LAST thing i want.....

Nice grill Flash. I like the stock grill on my 2003 too much to replace it. It was one of the things that attracted me to the Solara. I have a question for you.... Did the K&N replacement stock air filter make any noticible difference in the performance of your car? Let me know.

Thanks,

Tired Old Dog.

you cant go wrong with a K&N or TRD filter
i noticed a difference, but its nothing huge
and in the long run you're probably saving money since they're lifetime filters

Thanx Tired Old Dogg. I didnt notice any performance difference with the K&N, only a slight sound difference around 3000RPM in 2nd and up.
Id stay with the stock gen1.5 grille too, its much nicer than then gen1.0

Got any pictures of the concept UltraslowSolara? I have been working with one for my car, but the proto-type just is not working with me, so I might be interested if they're close to the style I am looking for. Keep us posted. I mean if there is a market for CF hoods and Body kits surely there are unexploited opportunities in the market for a snazzy looking grill.
Let's just pretend I didn't grow up, or you're going to be terribly disappointed.

Awesome, keep us posted. One thing i've learned is that if possible have them make it with the best quality parts. You might even want to have them frame it around the stock grill for support. A lot of people have had trouble with the fiberglass cracking under any form of stress.

Did anyone has trouble with steven's fiberglass? i think the grill only support with 3 bolts on the top, it should not give too much stress.

I think it will look like this, which has the mesh extend backward instead just replace the vertical sticks. the material most likely will be fiberglass because it is easier to make or modify
