I just got my TRD RSB today!

Well I'm thinking I put too much teflon tape on it, because the bushing don't "close" when I put the brackets on, therefore making it impossible to bolt it onto the chassis.

Now that it's too dark to do anything, I have retired for the night, but I still need to drive to work in the morning. How safe would it be to drive without a rear sway bar? If I can't drive like this, I may have to take another day...

You should be fine to drive to work. Just don't push the car fast around corners! Allow some extra room around yourself so you won't have to do any emergency evasive actions.

Also make sure nothing is loose under there that will jam up in the suspension.

It does seem like the bushings dont fit well on the first try. If you read the instructions carefully, it mentions there that you just finger-tighten those bolts for the bushings. It may look like it is impossible to lock it, but just work on the 2 bolts at the same time, tightening each gradually. Sooner or later, you'll find out that you've locked them as they should be... now for the Torque wrench part. That should be easy.

Also, if the bar looks like it's pretty close to the joints of the 2 wheels, that should be normal. Remember that your TRD RSB is much thicker than stock. Stock was placed the same way, only that it was thin and didnt look like it was close to those joints. After completing the whole thing, they actually look perfect.

Well I copped out and took it to the shop because of the bad weather the next few days, there would have been no way I'd be able to put it in the rain. I should have just given myself more time to work on it yesterday being that I'm an amateur with this stuff.

On the bright side, the sway bar was installed today. The differences are noticible, but subtle. I think I'll need to upgrade my springs/struts in order to get the full potential of the RSB. Overall, I'm pretty satisified with the sway bar. :D

Thanks to everyone here for their help and support!

I don't think that would be good to be driving minus one bolt. is this bolt securing the bushings or is it one of the end bolts?

hey the same thing happened to my when i installed my sway bar... it was really hard to screw that last bolt. it seems that the sway bar is shorter than the original bar. then you see a gap between the two holes... what i did was to force the sway bar to the side of the last bolt (either left or right side depending on which side u installed first) then force the bolt in. i asked a friend to help. It did hurt the bolt and the car but well.. what else can i do about it. I know for sure a mechanic would have done the same thing, or maybe he would have threatened it in.

anyway, now i have another problem it has clacky sound on track setting. it seems that the center of the sway bar hits with the two little wheels. some one told me that I might have installed it the wrong way but it is impossible.. there is only one way to fit, coz i tried it.. I assume that it is eeither manufacture defect or maybe i did something wrong.. when i switch it to street setting everything seems okay.. no clanky sound.
anyone have the same problem?? how do you solved it?

Ok, now i went to the auto shop and try to fix this stupid problem, now they said that they bolt is gone and also one of the bushing is gone too, and stupid toyota dealer said they don't have the OE bushing in stock, so i guess i have to drive without the bar for a while until they OE part arrive. Man, i think the cost is going to be more than the bar....sad....

Yes it does fit. I have OEM bushing on mine. so far so good.
It should cost less than TRD one.

Everyone should not panic when the bushings seem like they dont fit. Like I said, you need to work on each bolt gradually. Dont tighten one and then move to the other. If you read the instructions carefully, it mentions "finger tighten" them before you start working on a bolt.

You should have more problems installing anything on the engine than just a TRD RSB. Dont pay too much for this.
