SOLD!

I've found a local buyer thru eBay and will be selling them this weekend for $400 :)

Totally worth the $5 investment to list the beasties.

Thanks for the heads up! I could open it because it's my auction, but I guess the link won't be functional to the public until Sunday at 6 PM PST :(

Until then:

Description:

Starting Bid: $50
Buy It Now: $400
Shipping: $100 - Flat-rate (ie. UPS Ground, FedEx, DHL...)

"For sale is a set of (4) Stock/OEM 17" wheels (including pictured center caps) and a used set of Toyo tires originally taken off of a 2006 Toyota Solara, but were most recently mounted on my 2002 Solara.

These wheels are used (but in fantastic condition) and are being sold AS-IS. These wheels were originally mounted on 04-07 model Toyota Solaras, but will fit other year Solaras and other year/model Toyota vehicles with the 5x4.5 bolt pattern - Final fitment is ultimately the responsibility of the buyer, and I cannot be held responsible for the wheels not fitting on your vehicle.

As to condition, the wheels look like new - The paint sparkles brightly, and the clearcoat is in superb condition. The only blemishes that I could find are a small scratch on the edge of one of the spokes on one wheel, and a few scratches inside one of the wells where the studs attach to the lugs, probably incurred when the wheels were removed from the vehicle. Both of these are pictured below.

The tires on these wheels are Toyo Proxes J33 215/55/R17s. These tires are fairly evenly worn, with two showing slightly more wear than the other two. When I had my car's 60,000 mile service done 2 weeks ago, the mechanic at my dealership said that the tires have about 4/32 of an inch tread, or about 6 months' use remaining. He said he would expect to replace them in about 6,000 miles, depending on environmental conditions and driving style, but that they are perfectly safe for driving on. (He also recommended putting the pair of tires with the slightly better tread on the front axle for maximum traction.)

These rims would make an excellent back-up set for mounting winter tires for your 2004-2007 Toyota Solara, a sporty upgrade for your 04-07 Solara's stock 16" rims, or even an updated look for your 99-03 Solara. (If buying to mount on a 99-03 Solara, I will include the set of (2) necessary 5mm spacers needed for fitment on the back axle. These items are used, and will be included AS-IS for no additional charge.)

Below, you will find photos of what the wheels looked like on my 2002 Solara, the rims and tires themselves, three views of the remaining tread: profile with a penny and two from above a wheel each from the pair with better and lesser treads and two photos detailing the two blemishes I found.

The wheels will be shipping from ZIP code 32726 (Central Florida,) and I will allow pick-up if the buyer is local and would like to avoid shipping costs. Feel free to contact me with any questions you might have.

Thank you very much for looking, and there is NO RESERVE, so happy bidding!"

And the pics! (Click thumbs for hi-res pics. Sorry about them being in a long up-down row, I'm just using code that Photobucket gave me, so I don't know how to arrange them to make a shorter-looking post.)

Naw, sadly I went back to my stockies - 15" alloys. I really loved the way the 17"s filled my wheel wells, but as usual, it came down to cash-money:

I had intended to sell the 15's, but when I saw the kind of money they were bringing, and my bills this month, I thought it would be better to sell the wheels that were worth more while keeping the set of wheels with the best tires - Moving off to college and living on my own has proven expensive, so I'm avoiding large expenses whenever I can.

Once I get a new job, I'll be saving every penny for a while - I'm planning on studying abroad in London this coming summer, so I'll need almost $10K by May '08 - But after that, I'll have nothing to aspire to - so back to blowing money on the 'Lara!

Thanks for your interest :)
