Hmmm… depends on where you want the BREAK. For the windshield I figure just chucking any old pad through will work fine. You might need a big truck rotor for other parts though, as the plastic stuff is pretty durable. Heck, just push the car off a cliff that will BREAK lots of stuff.

Now if you are looking for BRAKES, I had good luck with EBC stuff.

i have the axxis brake pads, which i bought b/c i heard they squeal less, and produce less brake dust.

both of which i can confirm to be true...compared to duralast (autozone) brand.

EBC results

Postby SirTrixMagoo » Fri Oct 05, 2007 12:57 pm

I had the EBC slotted/dimpled rotors w/ GreenStuff pads up front on mine. Worked GREAT for about 30-40k. Stopped on a dime. They can get a bit noisy(loud groan under high braking). The only issue i had was the life. After about 30k the rotors started to warp out. After 40k there was NOTHING left of EITHER pad or rotor!!! (there was no metal to metal contact before anyone says something) mind you i drive a manual, so most of my braking is engine braking. my stock pads went 60k. I wouldn't even mind so much if it was only the pads that needed replacement after 30-40k, but because the rotors were also worn to the point of having no slots or dimples left, i would have to advise against this setup. The old saying, "you get what you pay for" couldn't be more true. If I get some time i'll try to post some pics.

My setup went about 30k also. Switched to Redstuffs + Ericsols kit afterwards, which worked out well. IMHO performance brakes are about stopping distance, not long life. OEM is good for long life.
