I have a question regarding the recommended fuel. in the site, it said that the 91-octane unleaded is recommended for a V6 engine. What about if I use the 89 octane unleaded. Is it bad for the engine? (The difference between the two is the quantity of octane that enhances the performance of the engine, am I right?).

higher octane reduces the chance of engine ping

If you're running forced induction (turbo/supercharger) you'd have to put the highest octane you can. If you're n/a, you can (I think) put 89 into the v6.

The manual says 87 for 1MZ-FE.

Very nice site. Thanks man.

We've had the discussion about gas before and basically they write 91 because in some cases you might experience retarded timing. Chances are you won't ping but the ECU will retard timing. If that is true then go for higher octane to advance the timing back to normal, if not, continue using 87 octane
