Engine Go Bye Bye!

Engine Go Bye Bye!

Postby ICUFG » Mon Jun 30, 2003 11:32 am

I havent posted in a long time due to the fact of my Solara pissing me off! I was having troubles keeping plugs from fowling out and I thought it was because of the plugs, well I was wrong. Come to find out my PCV hose was pinched and it was not letting my engine breath with the 2.75 pulley and me driving the way I drive, well crankcase pressure built up and heat built up and it ruined two pistons and warped my heads! I havent had my car for 2 months now and I was waiting to post the results before I knew what was going to happen. I am very lucky that Toyota is picking up the tab for the whole incident. So I am VERY HAPPY with Toyota right now. I am hoping it will be a lot faster now that my heads have been shaved and I have a new short block. I get my car back this week so ill post the difference of the car performance, I doubt it will have changed much but it makes me happy to think that I lil engine work is done to it.

is your car still under warranty with the regular 3 years/36k miles? is that why they picked up the tab? or does Toyota always treat their customers this good?

It's a 2000 with 45K, it still falls under the powertrain 5/60, but in general Toyota are best about warranty work. They will sometimes go way over what should be done.

A local machine shop no one big, they do a lot of circle track cars around here. They shaved them and also ported and polished them. I'm hoping to get at least 10whp. We will see.
