19's - Why Do Some Have Problems and Others Fit?

I've got a 99 SEV6 Stick and am looking at getting the Zenetti Mystik 19x8.5's - I've seen many different forums and comments and some Solara owners have 19x8.5's that fit without rubbing and others have to shave or roll the fenders. I'm not sure what the offset on these particular rims are and would like to know if anyone else does.

Is the offset on a 19x8.5 all that's going to make the difference between rubbing and not?

If it helps, I'll most likely put the Toyo Proxes TS-1's 235/35/19's. (any opinon on 19" tires is greatly appreciated - I know I'm definitely going to sacrifice some of the comfort of riding in the "Baby Lex", but still, some tires do ride smoother than others)

it's all depend on the offset. for me, I have racing cr 19X8.5, and I have different offset between front and rear. I think I have 35 and 38 offset.
The shop is the one that figure out the offset.

I have 19x7.5. No problems here. Im unsure about the offset though.

Mine is 19x8 w/ 38 offset, I rolled my rear fender and no rubbing at all even w/ 3 guys at the back.

It's all about the offset. With the proper offset you'll have no rubbing issues. Nominal for a 19x8.5 I believe is +38 and +45.

Also, different tires will have different widths, yes, even when they're spec'd at 235. Yokohama AVS Sports are true 235mm wide, while Pirelli P7000s for example will be 231-232mm wide. When you go this size, those few mm's can make a difference.
