yea but you can't play with 3rd gear unless you've turned overdrive off. and 4th usually is for really high speeds...

on the "sport shift" trannys, it's safe to drive like that. On our trannys, it'll eventually wear it out by doing that. The big difference is that the sport shift were built for that.

So in essence:
Sport Shift = Can do that w/o too much extra wear
Our tranny = Can do that with excessive wear
1GR-FE ftw!

not all sequential shift systems will hold the gear for as long as u like. i know that my friend's audi a6 has a sportshift mode that boots you out of first gear at a certain speed, and wont let you back into first until you're going under 10 mph or something. also, in any gear, if you hold the engine at too high of an rpm level, like near redline, it will boot you out of that gear after a few seconds and move you up to the next one. so yea, u do get a little more control, but it'll never be a manual

i think he's dead. :D

of course it'll never be a manual, but it's better as a daily driver so you can have the occassional fun w/ the shifting... although it's a fake shift =P

sitting in Los Angeles traffic w/ a manual = ass unless it's a car that you HAVE to get as a manual...
rx-7, s2000, etc etc... then I'm sure the driver wouldn't mind :P

Manual is better, unless your driving in San Francisco and someone is on your ass when your at the top of a hill waiting at a light...
