S-AFC problems

Postby chef solara » Wed Jul 02, 2003 6:38 pm

Has anyone ever gone into the ECT. setting on the S-AFC and notticed that the car wont run? Well I am having major problems w/ that, I was trying to fix my idle because it idles at like 500 rpms, which sometimes makes the whole car shake. So I mess ( which I know that I shouldn't have) and now the car runs like crap. Some times it wouldn't even start, untill I messed w/ it more to get it to start.
It eat gas so bad, the CEL goes on and off when it pleases, my air gauge never goes over 1.5 on the S-AFC no matter how high the RPMs are, And sometimes when I go to start it , it will start up but soon die unless I give it gas right away.
Well I live in South FL, Does anyone know of a really good shop to take the car to.
In this week I will be receving denso plugs, magacore wires, and the plasma booster. And I am putting the 4psi pulley back on, So I will need a shop to help me install and tune, Does anyone think that I will have problems w/ my fuel pump,( I did up grade it, so it is a high flow,) w/ the stock pulley back on, I want to check the fuel pressure at the shop.
So far I found 1 shop, and the head machanic was a master machanic at the local toyota dealership for 10 years, and he does know how to tune the S-AFC, so thats a start. but with the ECT settings I dont know.
Has anyone ever tuned the low-throttle on the S-AFC or do you need to, people have told me that you dont need to, is that true? Just the high-throttle.
If the knock sensers were going off w/ the 6psi pulley, will they still be more sensitive to even lower boost? The CEL has been coming on and off for over 5 months, toyota wont cover it because of the S-AFC.
Anyone have any thoughts? Please write back.
