For Sale: JPP Header and Y-Pipe

Postby DatSRBoi » Mon Nov 26, 2007 10:33 pm

I am 90 percent sure of that JP head will only work with the JP Y pipe. Thats what I remember when I saw it up close awhile back. They did made some old ones awhile back that would work but no one brought it so they dropped the idea.

^ if I remember right, you are correct...

I had thought about picking up a set of the jp headers years ago, but I already had a y-pipe that costed a bundle, so it didn't seem quite so worthwhile

and unfortunately, the same goes for those ebay headers/y-pipe combos as well.....they only fit together, so once you have a custom y-pipe, you pretty much have no headers alternative from stock or custom unless you want to toss your current y-pipe

Considering

Postby JMSinMaryland » Tue Nov 27, 2007 4:47 am

I'm seriously considering it but I'd want to run a 3" all the way back, the welds near the cat where the aftermarket 3" is installed look like it would make it difficult.

Any Muffler shop can cut and weld the end of Y-Pipe to the exhaust of your choice. It's pretty standard procedure. :fadein:

If I am correct the JP headers are different length from the stock Y pipe set up. Its made specifically for the JP down Y pipe.

From what i know, talking to the guy that works at JPP, he said the only diffrence, other than the size of the pipes in diameter, than the stock header, is the flange. He said the lenghts are pretty much the same.

Even tho, i can get the custom fab shop to mess around IF they are diffrent sizes, but i doubt they are.

they're supposed to be a little bit longer/shorter if I remember correctly...

and yeah, you could get a shop to cut/weld....but when you spend that kind of money....it better be a direct bolt-on if you know what I mean
