Better tires than Toyo's

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of any tires that perform as well as the toyos but last longer?

LOL I'm in the same boat. 8k miles after I got my toyos the front ones are almost bare. Going to have to rotate this weekend.

From what I've heard the Michellin Pilot Sport or pilot sport A/S are excellent tires

It depends a lot of how you maintain your car too...tire balance/roatation and 4 wheel alignment are what make the heart of any tire life...that and...how you drive. My stock potenza's lasted not even 20K miles. Right now i'm rolling on "General" brand...seemgood *like new* for the past 12K miles. Better than what toyota gave with new cars (potenza's).

beware the general tires. in 2001 toyota put them on base model camry's. most people were lucky to get 20K out of them. every day i have people pissed off about this. needless to say, they no longer put general tires on any model.

Strange...they lasted close to 35K miles on my 90 celica....For 12K miles, they still ride/feel/look like new!

Look for something that have the UTQG Treadwear of 300 or more. If you want high performance summer tires there are hardly any that go above 300. Nitto makes great all season high performance tire, NT450 Extreme, UTQG 300 and it's quiet.

if ur drivin on tough roads the yokohama parada spec II's are worth it...if road wear isnt too much of a problem go for michellin avs sports....hell yea~

Paradas are SOOOOOOOO noisy...

I would get T1-S again. Very good performance tires other than the soft sidewall, pretty good treadwear (280). If you want stiff sidewall, you want something like Falken Azenis or Yokohama 032R.

If you want good treadwear, they simply don't have the performance to back it up.

also, an article i read recently in the paper rated them the best over Bridgestone's S-03, Yokohama's ES-100, Goodyear's F1 GS-D3, Pirelli's P-Zero Nero, BFG's Scorcher, and Michelin's Pilot Sport.

Hows the life on your tires? Am I just driving too hard with them because my fronts are almost shot. They need to goto the rear because they have minimal tread left after a little more than 7k miles.

The reviews, road tests, and specs on tirerack.com are a pretty good source of info. I spent hours and hours on there researching tires. The comparison feature is pretty good too.

i'm at just under 12 thousand miles, ive rotated every 5k, and theyre still doin great
(im still ridin on stock suspension, think that'd make a difference?)

i used yokohama avids and they were pretty good...just got some dunlops tho....the yoko's prerofm good and r quiet.....maybe cuz they're only v rated.....
