Here's a picture of the torque rod:

And here are links to info on what it does, etc.

For those who don't know what it does, long story short, it keeps your engine from rocking back and forth under heavy acceleration, thus putting more of the engine power to the wheels through the axle instead of wasting torque while the engine moves more freely with the stock torque strut (which moves).

5-Speed owners will benefit the most from this mod- reducing wheel hop and making it easier to put the power to the ground and better traction. Automatics will also benefit from this modification since they still put down enough power to get wheel hop, though this mod will help them put the power directly through to the wheels instead of dealing with wheel hop.

The plus side to this mod is also that most people's torque mounts are pretty much dead at this point without knowing it (most people don't even know that it's there), and this torque rod is still cheaper than the stock OEM replacement.

Example: Image
(Thanks to ASG14 for the video of his dead torque strut)

The only down side to this mod is that it can increase cabin vibrations by a bit at idle since it is non-adjustable and transmits the engine vibrations into the chassis.

Since I had fronted a decent bit of money buying a bunch of these in hopes of helping out part of the community, I need to make my money back and I don't want to get screwed on shipping as I have on a number of occasions now. As well, these torque rods are now no longer made and are of great quality.

I will let the torque rod go for $75 shipped anywhere in the US firm. If shipping to Canada, $80 firm.

they originally sold for $55 shipped, and I will presume that shipping is around $10, so I will make an additional $10 on top for all my troubles of buying 5 torque rods during the last GB.

lol...yeah, I suppose....but the intention of buying them all wasn't to make money...

I brought one back to Toronto with me to give to a buddy for the exact same price I got it for.

But when it comes to shipping, I've had some bad luck with my ebay stuff and I didn't want to change the price. I'm also taking the hit on ebay. I'm a bit short on money lately, so I don't want to lose money trying to help out the community (Jim didn't give a shipping discount even though I bought 5 and they were all shipped to one address- boo...)

And regardless, this one has a sale pending :)

How bad is the vibration on these My mechanic told I shouldn't put for the exact reason the vibration and that it could also break something cuz it doesen't have the rebound like the oem one does ....in long term to those of you that have it did you end up going back to stock or just live with the vibration ...????I wonder....
