Well i was in a parking lot that seemed to be full of snow but it turned out to be ice. i was only going 15-20 miles an hour but as soon as i tapped the brakes the car didn't respond and it just kept on going in a straight line towards a small tree that caused ALL this damage >.> Were not reporting it to insurance since it was only me involved and the insurance spike is not worth what it will cost to fix the car. We had it towed back to the house and a friend who does body work and owns a garage should be doing the work but were still probably looking at a few thousand dollars... as you can probably tell, its not drivable at all. I need a new head and tail light, and new front passenger quarter panel. a new front bumper section (probably) and maybe a new rear quarter panel depending on how bad that is. The hood is fine none of the glass cracked and the airbags didn't deploy. the wheel took the brunt of the impact... I am not even sure of the damage but what do you guys suspect?

Ummm... That wheel looks BAD!

I'll bet you have some major damage down there. You sure you weren't going faster?

That looks like a lot of $$$

nope i wasn't going faster because the airbags didn't deploy and the damage didn't get to the hood... it stopped like a centimeter before the hood

Oh cool. I thought it looked bad enough to total. If the insurance company wants to fix it, GREAT!

Yeah, I read your post. I can't believe that you'd rather come up with $3000-$4000 out of pocket rather than increase your insurance premiums $5-$10 a month.

To each his (her) own. Good luck.

A damage like that.. I am 99.9% sure small frame damage you might want to check on. I have seen car with lighter damage then that on same impact with body frames off half an inch to more.

Cars now day are design to bend on impact for safety.. An impact like that I would tell your friend to check for frame bends

No way the car's totaled... It looks pretty nasty but it appears to be mostly fender, trim and suspension damage...

What are the 4th and 5th shots of? Those are actually the only two shots that really bother me as far as severity goes (they're kinda hard to tell where they are)...

If they're where your fender meets your front door then I'm pretty sure you're still fine... The fender looks like it was pushed back and upward, but I wouldn't be too concerned about frame damage, but make sure to have it checked out. The nice thing about unibodies is that they can't just "shim" them... They actually have to bend it straight to get everything right.

important thing is you're safe man.

hope that car gets fixed soon.

But for those who love,
they'll see what it's like to live.

Yeah thats where the fender quarter panel meets the roof trim and the passenger door ... and over night the wheel straightened itself out so.. i think the shock tower and all the connections to the shock tower are good... but from what i can see the axle is detached and its detached from the A-Frame which is bent up but not THAT badly...

yes i was actually thinking of keeping the rim as a trophy xD great minds think alike... and just for shits and giggles i was thinking since i had to have a new quarter panel and front bumper(most likely) i should add some ground effects while i was at it xD.... but yeah thats just gonna cost even more money.... it never hurt to joke around tho lolz
