Shocks or Springs Noise

Shocks or Springs Noise

Postby cruze105 » Tue Jul 08, 2003 3:17 pm

i recently had my shocks and lower springs installed about 30 days ago, yesterday as i was riding heard rattling noise coming from the rear right wheel as i went over little bumps. It seem to me that its either the shock or the spring. My friend saids this is normal since they are new and they need to set in. But the noise is really troubling me im not sure what it can be. Anyone have this problem.

give it another couple days of driving... if it doesnt stop id bring it back to whoever you had it installed... something might be loose.

i let mine settle in about 500-700mi then had the alignment... everything seems ok... hows the handling for you?

I had that problem... I took it into the dealer and they said it was the "bushings" or something on the rear sway bar that needed to be oiled. Call and ask a dealer tech I guess

do you think wd40 will do the noise? seems the noise comes only when i drive slow or on bumpy road. So if wd can, do i really need to take off the bushing or i can just use the straw and spray inside the bushig...it's bugging me, i don't want to go back to dealer cuz they take forever...

Not to much sure about your car (what model year or type) assumed it to be 2002 sev6
there are 2 TSB's for that car
SU001-03; JAN 03; Suspension - Front Suspension Thump/Knock Noise
SU002-03; JAN 03; Suspension - Rear Suspension Knock/Thump Noise

If the lubing doesn't solve that...and the guy who installed doesn't help...you might see if these you qualify for??

I had a issue with a lot of noise comming from the back of my car a month after getting it lowered and it turned out to be that the rear sway bar got screwed up from having my car put on a lift.

Best bet is the eibach springs/tokico struts and TRD RSB (optional). You'll preserve that nice ride while significantly improving handling. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find a ton of responses on this

ok, brought it for kragen, it's 4.99 in 2 big a$$ tubes, why the heck i need all those for? but they only have that one, i'm going to re-grease it after work tomorrow, wish me luck. By the way, do i have to remove the grease that's already on the bushing before re-grease? If yes, wat;s good to remove?
