octane in solara

The book with my 2002 says 87 octane, but with a 10:1 compression ratio I go alittle higher, runs find on 89 octane. Using anything higher is money out of your pocket. The car really won't run any better with the higher octanes

I use 87 octane in I4. I used it in my 1991 Toyota Corolla DX. I had it for 11 years and 150,000 miles. It did it no harm. I never had a problem with the fuel system, injectors or anything else for that matter.

I think as long as you properly maintain your engine it wouldn't matter what gas you choose. But, doesn't higher octanes burn cleaner? Wouldn't that mean in your engine too?

Same here. Super or super plus, whatever the 93 octane is
