Lower Arm Bushings?

hey guyz well i found out from the auto body shop whom installed my shocks and springs that the noise was not coming from the the spring or shock but from the lower arm bushing . The guy said that it needs to be replaced. I checked the local auto parts and they didnt carry it. So i am wondering is there performance part of this kind or do i have to jus get the oem part from toyota? Also how much does this kind stuff cost?

Actually it was called a Lower Control Arm Bushing that needed to be replaced

i feel you man, what year is ur car? the dealer usually don't have the bushing in stock for solara that made after july 2002. (they said it's different from the previous solara). Took me 10 days to wait on the trd bushing. it's around 14 bucks.

mine is a 2002, are the trd bushings are what i need to solve my problem. Cuz the guy said i needed a lower control arm bushing. IS that the same as the trd bushings.

Exactly what kind of noise were you hearing? I have been getting creaking and clunking sounds from my suspension since I went with aftermarket springs and struts. I thought that they were from the struts, but I've replaced the strut mounts, along with the bearing, and it has not made any improvement. I am thinking that maybe I needed to replace the suspension bushings, and it sounds like you've been told the same thing.

like metal hitting noise? I'm pretty sure it's the sway bar, since i didn't deal anything with the suspension. I'm so pissed with the bar becasue i wasted on labor to install and reinstall this stupid bar is like 5x price of the bar.

the noise was more of clunking noise, i know its not the strut or spring cuz the guy showed me wat it was. He moved sum bar right below the strut and it was loose. I guess it was the bushings or suttin. But is there a difference between lower control arm bushing to a regular bushing? Cuz i wanna get the trd bushings but im not sure if that will solve the problem the guy described to me.

i think if you have ur oe bar, then u should stick with ur oe bushing, the size is not right...

I actually have two different sounds. One is a metal hitting metal sound, and it sounds like a clunk. It happens when hit the brakes or when I lift off the gas at slow speeds. Sometimes I hear it when I accelarate from a stop, but mostly it's when slow down. This is the sound that I thought was coming from the strut mount, but now I think it might have something to do with the sway bar hitting the steering rack. The other sound is more of a creaking sound. It's a much more subtle sound, and does not sound like metal, at all. It sounds like a rubber component, or something else that is softer than metal. I mostly notice it when I accelerate from a stop, and sometimes when I come to a stop from a slow speed. I have a feeling that suspension bushings may be the culprit, but nobody seems to be able to tell me yes or no. Neither sound seems to be a serious problem, they're just annoying as hell. I've been trying to determine the source of the problems for months. Neither the local Toyota dealership, nor the tuner shop that I go to is able to determine what it is.

i got it fixed today extra 90 bucks at a tire shop but this time i got it in track setting, all the noise is GONE, yes GONE, before i went to a dealer to install it and they didn't even put grease to the bushing, probably that's why the sound was there. But now i'm pretty happy with it.

Glad that you got your problem fixed. I didn't realize that you were talking about problems with a rear sway bar. All my noises are on the front end, and some may have to do with my Whiteline front sway bar hitting the steering rack.
