Custom Y-Pipe installed...um yeah

ok so, install was a pain because the previous owner had the exhaust up to the exhaust manifolds welded as one piece (including the factory Y-pipe) so after cutting and welding in a flange to mout it, this is the result(plus an exhaust leak that i have to take back to fix).

i think it sounds like crap personally, i was expecting a change but not so drastic. performance is very nice says my ass dyno, low end power has suffered but top end is better, ill find out how good in a couple weeks it think.

before:

after: :-?

in gear outside(some tire spin too):

in gear inside moderate acceleration:

its actually louder then that, the mic was pointed foward so it got more S/C then exhaust.

the y-pipe(perviously owned by mzfe5speed)

But for those who love,

the main reason that i did not buy that ypipe, is because u'd have to hack into the mid pipe to put a Cat.

and in NJ, if u run with out a Cat and the trooper just happens to check to see if u have a cat or not, and if u dont, they will impound ur car.

So be carefull if u ever come into NJ.

oh i have a cat, we definatly had to hack the mid pipe down. im thinking a resonator will cut back on the raspieness but i may just redo the back end of the exhaust, ive always thought quad exhaust would look good with the TRD kit, plus 2 mufflers should quiet it down a bit.

of course thers no reason, i just think it would look good. take some of the rice away from the giant muffler and tip. if it was a lara id love it but i just dont see the look fitting the car the way it is now. but this is just an idea, first step will be to install a resonator...or 4 :D

i dont like the sound. i know that the sound coming from your vid is because of the better flow, hence better performance, but it sounds helllllllla ricey.
