SS FC is gone

SS FC is gone

Afew days ago I was going through my car to find the SS FC. Shocar4, the original owner, told me where to find it. I looked and looked and finally found cut wires that went to the O2 sensor... I immediately knew it was missing since I found paperwork in the glove box from Toyota of IC saying they recomended that the SS FC be removed.

Now I'm going to go the AFC NEO route. From what I understand, it can do what the safc2 and vafc2 can do.

Anyone have input they want to tell me about installing, the product itself, and/or how much you like/dislike the AFC NEO.

much better than the safc 2, both in terms of technology and the overall display, which can change to practically any color to match your interior. the only i don't like about it is that there is no display to monitor your knock, even though there is a wire to hook up to it.

install is pretty much the same as the safc 2, with the exception that it has an additional power wire. both wires will splice into the one power wire coming from the ecu.

I can't understand how your car was running with 305 injectors and no SS unit. You might want to check on the fuel pump too!!! And the injectors for that matter, there should be a part number on them.
I STILL don't get the knock sensor monitor thing. They'll be gone before you can possibly react. On my OBD2 diagnostic unit you can at least see timing retarding and from there I will be able to control the amount of retardation!!!! LOL, some times I crack my self up! :drinking:

^^lol....the whole knock sensor thing i used just to see how the sensor would react under load at certain times, i.e. WOT at night vs. during the heat of the day. Basically just a monitoring device, but since I know now how the car will react in different temps, I guess it's not that big of a deal.

Yea, it's annoying how lean the car is running right now. I'm just really careful with accelerating. Also been keeping the tank more than 1/3 full. When looking at the fuel pump and injectors, what should I look for exactly other than the part number? That is visual inspection for wear and tear.

There are part numbers on the injectors....Google them. Or reference Here
And on the pump I'll have to check my factory one for a part number in my garage.
