Fog lights with high beams

What kind of wiring change would be needed to get the fog lights to stay on when the high beams are turned on? Has anyone changed the wiring to do this?

Unless you can seperate the Fog relay from the headlight relay...you can't change it. It's a safety feature for oncoming drivers to prevent you from blinding their vision.

I don't know if any of you watched that Mtv special on street racing. Anyhow, when the cop caught the acura integra guy racing...in addition to racing, he gave him citations for:
1. lowering his car (his was 18', OEM std is 22' - from the bottom to the lights)
2. Non legal lights.....(i'm sure hyper blues)
3. Intake
4. Fog Lights....

Apparently, his fog's didn't go off, when the high beams are on! So be careful. I have respect for law enforcement, only when i don't is when these stupid rules are STRICTLY enforced!....

1) Fog light relay on drivers side, left side just above kick panel.
With lowbeams on, turn fog lights on/off, will hear relay click.

2) Remove relay, will see two sets of prongs, one set thicker than other.
Thick prongs are fog power, thin prongs are fog control circuit.

3) Using a digital multimeter, test fog relay receptical.
Find the power lead for fog power (thick prongs) allways on.
Turn fogs on, find power lead for fog control (thin prongs)

4) On relay you removed, bend thin prong so does not go into receptical and using jumper wire, connect to power lead for fog (thick)
Wrap wire around base of this prong so can insert into receptical.

5) Fog lights will now work with both high/low beams.

Note: The reason the the fog lights do not allways stay on even though you jumped it to a constant power supply is that the fog control circuit (thin prongs) only has ground if the headlights are on.

first off, what they did to that girl on the special was borderline hilarious. Now, I'm not totally cruel, i did feel bad, but it was still funny... anyways, the law, as I understand it, is that your lights have to be at least 22" above the ground. I forget if thats to the center of the light, or the base, but the magic number is 22". You can lower cars, as long as you meet that minimum. Dropping a solara an inch or even two won't hurt

I've done this swap to my celica...(on OEM fog's...just like solara, they run of headlights and not on parking lights)...here's instructions on a celica...

your thin prong wire is the control? and you hooked it up to the power source (thick prong) for your fogs? does that mean they can be turned on at anytime?

if i am understanding you correctly, take the thin prong wire, and tap it into your parking light wire, then your fogs will only come on when your parking lights are on (including headlights and highbeams).

1) The large prongs are the power circuit for the fogs.
One of these large prong recepticals (where relay plugs in) has constant power. Confirm this with digital multimeter.

2) The small prongs are the control circuit for the fogs.
One of the small prongs has power when low beams are on and fog switch is on. Confirm with digital mutimeter. This is the one you bend and jump to the large prong constant power.

The other small prong has ground ONLY IF HEADLIGHTS ARE ON.
Therefore, your headlights must be on. (RATS!)
If this had ground at all times, you could turn on your fogs on anytime!
If you could intercept this ground after the foglight switch, and gound it to the chassis, you could turn on fog lights anytime.
