WTB Black Housing Corners

WTB Black Housing Corners

Postby SpeedySolara » Sun Apr 06, 2008 8:27 am

I really want to buy the gen 1.5 black housing headlight set although the black housing corners/signal lights are more important to me. I'd attempt to open the corners and paint them but I heard several guys say that it broke on them. If anyone knows how to open them without breaking it, I'll pay for that too. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

opening them up is real easy.

I did it to mine back in the day to remove the orange piece.

I've been kind of worried to do it but how would I open them up without breaking them? I hear a few people have broken them attempting to open them up.

yah i broke mines. The headlights are easy because of the glue when you bake it but the corners will crack.

I highly doubt anyone could get both corners apart w/o at least one crack. They aren't sealed with butyl rubber like the headlights are. Butyl becomes pliable with heat, where as the contact cement used in the corners does not. You basically have to find a way to chip in between the contact cement and break the lens away from the housing. Good luck.
