FINALLY got my car back!

FINALLY got my car back!

Postby PXLpainter » Fri Apr 25, 2008 10:58 pm

After 2-1/2 weeks of driving crappy rental cars (well, the Avalon in LV was actually really nice at least!) I was able to pick up my car from Lanzini's today!

New bumper, windshield, headlights/fogs, chrome, repaint and grilles... he even added back in the valance I busted off underneath a while back, so it was great to drive it around today - grab a cigar and enjoy the 80º weather in OC :)

Nice to see out a clear windshield again -and NO HOLES IN THE BUMPER! YEA!! :D :bday:

Crappy iPhone pics for now:

Will post better pics later this weekend from my real cam. ;)

Several incidents actually, but the sandstorm/gravel toss from my last road trip to Las Vegas is what did me in. Ins paid for everything except the bumper itself since that was a separate occurrence - fuggin' piece of retread on the freeway yanked it off! Was held on with zip ties and epoxy :(

At least I'm done messing with the exterior cosmetics for awhile... I just have to track down a couple electronic problems with the wheel sensors and concentrate on doing something to get the tranny to work better if there IS any solution that is!

I've thought about the kit several times - not worth the extra $$ to me - I could get some custom work done to my fenders for the same price, which I may do some day... along with some custom paint.

Besides, my car is so low I already scrape like hell - don't need to scatter lip kit debris all over as well!

Looks great, Jeff.

Now that you are through with the cosmetics, now you should concentrate on performance. Make yours the fastest Solara in the OC.

Well - I'd have to actually DRIVE it back to the OC to claim that - LOL!

I'm looking at several options for now... but probably not going to turbo or S/C anything - just get it to do as good as it can with existing setup. Would be really tempted to go with a manual tranny before any FI work anyways - that is the weakest link with the Gen 2 by far!!
