Headlight cleaning

Headlight cleaning

Postby WTF?? » Fri Jul 25, 2003 3:55 pm

Hey I did a search going back on this already and ever since I registered I dont recall anyone talking about headlight cleaners.

Basically whats going on is my headlights being so exposed to everything (bugs, rocks, dirt, etc) when driving, its seems like theres a film over the lens of my headlights. Ive ran it through lots of washes and tried so many different glass cleaners... seems like they could be just scratches, but I swear I can get the film off... its just being so freakin hardheaded with me!! :agrue:

anyone got any solutions?

Meguiar's also makes a plastic cleaning gel called PlastX.

Picked up some stuff called Blue Magic plastic and plexiglass cleaner at Autozone today. Works like a charm, removed the hazing and light scratches. Headlights look much clearer now. You apply it like a wax, except your really gotta rub the stuff in hard with a clean cotton cloth. Let it haze up and buff away.

As I was working at the business end of my car I noticed my passenger side fog light has tons of condensation in it. Any ideas?

Disregard that second part about the fogged fogs.

Dude...

You can do it cheaply w/ Turtle Rubbing Compound. $1.99 (Available at the Wal-Mart near you) :D

Work like a charm and save a buck or two.

Yeah I know for a fact its do-able... since I saw one solara that changed his headlights to projectors... but its one hell of a risk for condensation

but anyway I think kenny is right with the heating part... its a biyach!
