relocated boost port

i thought i would share this with you camry/solara people, i did this awhile ago with my 1st supercharger heres some pic.s

i also use to get crazy wheel hopping action so what i came up with is to support the rear engine mount with a toyota pickup truck bump stopper.
now i dont get no wheel hop at all. heres some more pics

Awesome job. That idea to stop wheel hop is genius.

yeah, the only thing is that i installed it with the engine out, i was swaping out my trans with a lsd trans one. i was easy with the engine out.

hhmmm...so any toyota pickup truck stopper will do? something autozone will have in stock?

headers going in soon, so maybe I can do this....

i used a 1994 toyota pick up truck rear stopper, the reason why it was easy was because when the engine was out i had to drill the two hole to hold it down, my brother had cut them down when he drop hit truck so it wouldnt bottom out on the stoppers.

so, how did u tap into that portion? u drilled and threaded it? err i mean u threaded it? ( i dono about the process)

yup, i got my 90 deg. fitting and made sure it didnt hit the pulley side of the supercharger then mark the spot where i was going to drill using a 1/8 bit to start with. the supercharger was off the engine. when i drilled i had the charger upside down so the shavings would be minimal in the charger. i have a tap and die set to do the thread, before i flipped the charger i used a shop vac and taped a small long hose, flash and vaccumed the shavings that got in there. i drilled on the small circle right behind the existing boost port. it offseted in the circle towards the driver side.

looks like a good idea for you guys who can use a trd strut bar for sure...

as for the bump stop...which part of the suspension is it on? since the shape doesn't seem to fit anywhere on a suspension?

I'd like to try this too, since I'm pulling my engine out to re-seal my leaking differential

I should post a pic of where my boost port is, I swear TRD revised it at some point because it is nowhere near close to hitting the strut brace...

I'll have to post up my solution when I get home. I ended up using a 1/8" barb elbow with a hose extension. Not even a shaved 90 degree elbow would clear my strut bar.

the bump stops are between the rear end and the frame of the truck.
the bump was also cut down some so it looks a little different, the stopper is suppost to end at some what a point.

They must have updated the charger at some point... or maybe its because I have the sienna kit. But either way, you can see where my boost port is in this pic- thats the only hole for it, so they must have changed it at some point:

ahhh...now that makes a lot more sense...I guess it's time to start looking for one before I pull my engine out then...

just one more question....so is it pushing against the engine mount at all times then? or did you put a bit of space in between so that it only touches then the engine moves?

Damon, you got lucky. I spent a couple of days messing w/ the clerance of my boost port.
