Sorry to hear about Sammy, Jen. I am sure they will make him like new again. Demand that they use genuine Toyota body panels and not aftermarket stuff. I am glad to hear that you and your friend were okay. No fault? I'd be pissed! Sounds like it was all their fault. :o

Yeah it was the big ass pick up trucks' fault he totally sped up to crash into us. BUT it was my fault to let her drive my car. I mean we are still friends and everything but she feels soo bad ( I would be too if it was someone else's car)

Thanks for the sympathy guys

So that amounts to "No fault" because stupid truck hits your car but you weren't driving it? That's not fair at all. Is there any chance you could get another cop or an expert to dispute the other cop's retarded assessment?

Yeah, it'll probably go that way. I would guess it would go that way if the friend isn't insured. That's such BS. I would still go after my insurance insisting to make the other insurance pay, so at least they don't have to cover the repairs and also help your record. Insurance sucks, but will still need it.

My friend, myself and the trucker all had insurance (3 different companies tho, if that matters). We are going thru an Allstate (my insurance company) to their certified body shop so the insurance and fix price would be better... They pick up the car tomorrow mourn and should be back within 4 weeks.
My dad took over and handled all of the business work so that's about all I know in that field...

:o Jen! What are you doing! I wasn't trying to set an example for you by posting it was the 1year anniversary of my accident! ;)

wow, I'm so glad everyone is ok! That looks like it coulda been a whole worse! So you were taking a left and he was going straight on your right side? what an idiot..how the hell do you possible side swipe someone like that unless you were looking somewhere else w/out your hands on the wheel?

If I were your friend I'd be so sick to my stomach, but unless she took a "swing" left hand turn, no way could it be anything she did wrong..just macho truck drivers....and of course you got to sit right by the point of impact

That's what I told my friend... I told her that if I was ever involved in an accident with a friend I would rather it hit myside (even if I wasn't driving) because if my friend got hurt in my car I would feel really guilty.

I saw the truck coming and closed my eyes until after impact, I then checked on her to see if she was alive and then jumped out thru the window.

I think it just hit me today, that my car is kaputt... :o

Sammy is officially at a body shop... we will be replacing the damaged goods with factory parts ( I had the choice, and with the suggestions on this thread, I chose factory... gotta make my baby look good again!)
My dad told me that the dude said it would be 2 weeks... I wonder if that is true  maybe 4, who knows?!

After a long and helpful talk with Missy last night, I can now joke about this whole nightmare:
"All good things must come to an end" BUT Sammy will be back hehehahaha 8)

Thanks everyone... I will keep you guys all updated!

SammySolara, sorry to hear about the accident, but glad to hear that the car is getting put back together.

Wait till I come to Pittsburgh next year, then we can hunt down trucks! :evilbat:

The accident happened on July 28, and the body shop said "due to the excessive damage the car should be ready on Aug 27" :x

Their trucks are actually decent!! It's the drivers of the trucks that should be shot! The majority of SUV/Truck drivers are so irresponsible... "I'm in a big truck! Nothing can hurt me! HAR HAR HAR!!! "

I have brushes with death (truck drivers) at least twice a week!! They should have to get class B licenses for their stupid trucks!!!!!!!~!
