if you're interested in the black widow kit there should be one up for sale on ebay. . . the auction may have ended though :splat: . . .i'm not sure. in any case though, you can call the seller. it's running for about $550 + shipping out of the auction.

Body Kits

Postby Mark Trainer » Mon Aug 19, 2002 3:22 pm

In my opinion, the main reason most body kits don't look right on the Solara is because they do little else than add body between the side and the ground- which distrurbs the overall balance of the car, which is mostly long and sleek. Add the kits and the car becomes more stout looking, which I think doesn't look as good.

I have the largest tires you could get with the 2001, but in my opinion they still look to small. The best visual improvement that could be applied to a Solara would be add bigger tires, with perhaps slightly wider rear tires than front tires.

While on the issue of appearance, I've seen Solaras of all colors and in direct sunlight the dark blue is hard to beat. I don't know why they didn't make more of them, and I heard they were going to discontinue it. From what I can tell, the factory loves to paint these little else than black and silver.

there is an advertisement in the Sept. '02 issue of Import Tuner for a website called importtrenz.com that supposedly sells black widow(aka spyderman) bodykits for solaras. The solara is not listed on their website but it is listed in their ad. You might check into calling them and asking, which I have not had the opportunity to do yet, but it is something worth checking into.

That would be pointless for a FWD car and 235 will rub unless you have the proper tire offset and/or roll the fenders. Also you wouldn't be able to rotate your tires with a wider tire in the back.

hey azntddybr, did you install this yourself or you got it installed? the reason i'm askin' is cuz my friend told me that you have to drill holes, and that the holes that are already on the kit DO NOT match up with factory holes. . .is that true??? :o
