deformed TRD rims

Hey guys:

Ever since my last tire rotation, my steering wheel started laterally vibrating at freeway speeds, so I eventually had things checked out, and found out that my rims that had been brought to the front were deformed. Well, I had them "unrotated" so that the bad rims went back to the rear, and of course, now the steering wheel feels fine.

My question is this: do you guys think it's bad for the car to keep riding on these rims, even though they're on the rear and I don't feel the effects of it? Should the rims be replaced? The rims that are currently on the front are fine.

I really don't want to spend the $'s because I was planning on a spring/strut upgrade soon.

By the way, with regards to the spring/strut upgrade, is it customary for shops to give you a break on the installation price if you ordered and installed at the same place? Anyone recommend any such shops in the West Los Angeles vicinity?

Thanks so much in advance.

first check to see of the rims are bent. if so, replace them.
a spring/strut upgrade will do no good with bent rims.
if the rims are not bent, get them rebalanced.
and yes, many shops will give you a break on install if you purchase through them, ask first.

Dav is right...however, there are wheel repair shops that have guaratee. However, it depends on location and the extent to which the wheel is repairable. See if there is a wheels america by your place and see what they suggest...it might cost close to 75-150 per wheel to get it repaired n repainted to factory settings! (might be cheaper then replacing all 4 wheels).
